#7: My Top 3 Photo Spots in Downtown Sanford - pt 1
Hello friends and welcome to phlog #7 :)
This week I am excited to share my top 3 favorite photo spots in Downtown Sanford.
Milton and I moved to Sanford in February of last year, and I got to do a handful of photoshoots in the area. I’ve really come to love Sanford and what it has to offer, especially when these spots are so close by.
Without further ado, here they are - my top 3 spots for picture-taking in Historic Downtown Sanford!
#1: The Ritz Theatre
This historic theatre was built in 1923 and is located at 201 South Magnolia Avenue. It has now been named the Wayne Densch Performing Arts Center. Source
Here I did my first photoshoot alone in public. A bit nerve wracking this was since many people were around.
Here’s a still image of the original building taken in the 1950s. Source
#2: PICO Building
The PICO Building (was first known as the PICO Hotel) is a historic 2-story redbrick building located at 209 North Oak Avenue. It was built in 1886 to serve travelers arriving in Sanford by railroad or steamship lines. Source
Here I did a photoshoot with my husband, Milton, for his online fitness company - White Lotus. His favorite pose is always 🤘🏾🧡
Yup, it’s the charm of historic buildings in Downtown Sanford that do it for me. They make the perfect photo spot with its architectural beauty.
And last but not least - my final photo spot in Downtown Sanford…
#3: Vintage Coca-Cola Wall
This wall is located at 307 E 2nd St on the permanently closed, SMASH! Comics and Games building. I love the distressed brick, muted colors, and chunky typography that give it that old school vibe. Whenever I have photoshoots with clients, I always meet at this wall because it’s so easy to notice.
Photos all taken using this wireless camera remote! You can kinda see it in the first photo 😗
And that concludes my top 3 favorite photo spots in Downtown Sanford! I hope this inspires you to go out and explore the beauty of Sanford or wherever you live. There are always hidden treasures nearby.
If you enjoyed this photo set and learning about different spots for photography, I’d love to know. I’ve done a handful of shoots here in Sanford, so I have much more to share if you’re interested ❣️
Until next Tuesday!
