#14: Mother’s Day Special 💐
Happy happy Friday!
Today phlog is a Mother’s Day special 💐
I wanted to capture my mom in this stage of life for her and my own memory <3
With someone as special as my mom, the location I chose had to be just as much so. I drive by this small field by my place on the daily. It’s right next to the highway but it was empty all winter long. Once spring came around though, the flowers blossomed and the field was covered with vibrant blooms. I knew I had to get some pictures taken here with her.

Doing this shoot and hanging with my mom was so much fun. She had no idea where the location was set or what it looked like, so when she saw the wildflowers she was shook and as happy as a child. I’m so glad I got to capture her in such a state.

The flowers here were wild ✨🌸🌼✨

This wildflower set was actually taken way before today. So, here’s the real part I wanted to share for this upcoming holiday..
🪴🌿🌵 This phlog’s actual intention is to show you both of my mothers’ gardens!
👁👄👁
Mama Holdiem
Since marrying Milton in November 2021, I get to call this woman right here my momma 💖 I look up to her so much because there truly is not a single bad bone in her body. So much of her personality shines through Milton, and I see it everyday. She’s an amazing role model 🌞

The #1 coolest thing about her garden is that most of everything is either hand-built or recycled!
She is the mother of dragon (fruits) because they are her favorites 🐲🥝 Definitely had to snag some pics with her and her fav babies.

Mama Holdiem is the youngest of 11!! 🤯 She learned all of her gardening skills from her father. Back in the Philippines, he would sell pechay, bok choy, sweet potato, and different banana varieties.

Her little green house 🌿 built by hand 🔨
I’m thankful for all the lettuce she always give us 💚
Mama Chan
My mom is incredible! She is the eldest of 3, escaped Vietnam when she was only 18, started a business, worked full-time, and raised 2 daughters on her own.
My mom will always be my comfort. I remember as a child I would wake up in the middle of the night crying because my legs were aching. She’d rub them with medicated green oil until I felt better. Or when I’d ask her to sing my favorite Chinese lullaby as I fell asleep. To this day I still find her sweet and timid voice to be so soothing.

First part of her garden tour: the front porch 😍
Plant in the first photo is my fav of hers (begonia panasoffkee - adding it to my plant wish list 🔖)
When I asked my mom which one is her favorite plant, she couldn’t decide so she put a bunch of her favorites in one photo! (I’m SO much like her)

Next she is sharing with you her back patio.
Second photo is the doreanthus trailing mezoo red - a gift I gave to her last year. She’s growing beautifully.
Peep! She also has plants on the side of her house! My mom is very proud of her dragon fruit plant, just like Mama Holdiem 💖
Mama Chan teaching me hand pollination - pollinating plants by hand❣️
And that’s it, you guys! This one was longer than usual, but I hope you enjoyed it! Definitely shed a happy tear writing this one.
Mother’s Day is this Sunday, but I’ll be celebrating with my moms, aunties, and sisters today! To all the moms out there, keep being amazing because there is truly no love like a mother’s ✨
Until next Friday’s phlog <3
